WEDDING FILM DELIVERY UPDATES

I thought I already updated the website but I must have no saved update on the previous update I wrote out. What I was saying before was something like this.... I have finally gotten my computer back! It took longer than expected. Also the main job I was doing currently doesn't pay as much. Not a dramatic decrease but it does mean I would have to work extra to make the same amount so I can cover my bills. I still will be editing all these films and getting them out as soon as possible. My plan right now is to finish absolutely every single film before Christmas. I really don't want to carry this whole thing into next year.

So I just noticed today that my website URL disconnected and I just reconnected it again today! You may have seen for 2 weeks my website was taken down. I'm sure this has worried some of you thinking I may have run away and disconnected my site on purpose. Please do not worry, I would not do that. I am determined to finish every wedding video I have still and I will not stop until the very last wedding film is completed. I didn't mention one thing because I thought it would take only a few days but it ended taking over a week. I took my computer in to my local small business computer store to upgrade my PC specs. In order to have faster power to edit smoother and quicker. Originally it was supposed to be in only for 3 days based on what I was told so I didn't think it'd be worth an update to here since it would have been only 3 days but it's been over a week now and I think it's worth a mention now. Based on what I've been told I should be getting it back in the next 1-3 days.
Also, I want to clarify once again, I am not making any more money from weddings at all like the way I used to back in 2022 (my last year being a full-time wedding videographer)
I still have to work in order to pay my bills such as rent, food, and other bills. I recently got a newer vehicle too. My previous vehicle was actually older than I and it's time came that it could no longer run and was too expensive to repair. It makes better sense to get a more modern car than to fix that really old vehicle. Due to my age and bad credit (maxing out my credits to pay bills ever since my wedding business went down), I now have a new bill to worry about now every month. Hundreds of dollars have been added to my monthly expenses. This doesn't mean I won't be editing anymore. I definitely will still be editing. But this requires me to spend an extra hour of work every day now to help pay for the car. I really wish my previous vehicle would have been fine and not broken down but I cannot survive living on with no car with my life schedule. If I took public transportation, I'd lose many hours of my day and ubers/lyfts would be very expensive taking it very very often.
Although having a new vehicle (not a literal new 2023 car but a new car for me) doesn't affect me that much. I thought it'd be worth mentioning as it would involve me having to work a bit more hours every week to earn enough to pay the bill.
I'll give another update as soon as I get my computer back from my local computer shop.
I have no doubt that I'll get every wedding video completed before Christmas with the majority of these films already completed by Halloween. I want my life of freedom back. I don't want my whole life revolving around having to worry about when will i have time to edit. I will finish all these films.

I officially have moved to my new home! I still have to unpack, within the next 2 days, I will finally have my computer up and running. The room is definitely smaller but of course that was to save a lot more on rent from having my own place to just a tiny room to rent.
I know this may sound strange to say but I am excited to finally be able to dedicate at least 5 hours every single day for editing. As much as I'd love to be able to spend 12 hours editing every day, unfortunately, I won't be able to due to still having to earn money to pay for bills. But my goal will be to reach for 8 hours to edit every day with a MINIMUM of 5 hours every day. This is a major step up from before when I was working nearly all daylight.
I'll make an update again in the first week of August to give an update if I'm truly consistent with my 5 hours every single day editing plan or if there are other issues.

LONG STORY SHORT: I still on giving everyone's videos back, I couldn't complete it before since I was still having a lot of bills to pay and with the day and night job I do. It's barely enough to cover them so I will be moving in with an old couple friend I know to a small bedroom in their house local in DC.
After moving in there, Instead of always working to earn money to pay rent, I will be able to actually edit and make progress. Before when I gave the last update, It was more of a I will try with my current life to make progress but I can't make change if I'm living the same way.

Again I've written this whole thing without reading it and making it perfect since I'm very limited in timing
My plans of editing throughout the year has not gone well. I really was hoping I'd be able to edit all the films and get them delivered ASAP. But with the job I do during the day time and night time, it really takes up majority of my days away. Some of you may think I'm exaggerating everything about my time management and how much I work. I'm not, I really don't want to be in this always having multiple videos to edit position. I want to be able to go back to having a normal life again instead of always worrying about my money and wedding films problems.
I don't see how anyone would want to be in my position at all. I will be giving everyone their video. It's just hard with all the financial problems that built up for me ever since I got my first 1 star review... you may remember after the first couple left a 1 star review since I was late to giving them their final product, they left a nasty review which made couples stop booking me and I used my saved money as well as my credit cards to pay my monthly bills. Ever since that happened I've been only using my saved money + credit cards to pay for my monthly expenses because I thought I could still run the business but clearly not. It went even more downhill causing me to go back to my previous job doing them now during the day and night time late hours with no little time to do computer work.
Anyways that's what my life as been like the past few months. I know before back when the wedding business was good, I use to make thousands a month but now I barely do.
That got me thinking what I could do to make this whole thing work. I currently do have my own private space and I pay rent still pretty high. My rent is my most expensive bill right now. If I can cut that off, I'd be able to save well over a thousand every month. Therefore I could work way less on my day and night job... meaning I could spend those hours editing!
So throughout late May to mid June, I was looking for one of my friends that I could be roommates with. After reaching to all my close friends, none of them were available. Then I reached out to some of my more distant friends and finally one of them said I could move in with them! A couple I've met a while back actually loved the videos I did and fully understood everything I told them. They agreed to let me move in with them in the middle of July to their home local to DC to a spare small bedroom they have and would charge very little rent. I agreed! Although It'd be a huge downgrade from having my own private big place to just a small bedroom. It's well worth it if it means I would have to work less hours on my day and night job.
Once I move, I will be able to begin to actually making real progress.
I know I have moved several times in the span of 2 years and you may recall me mentioning that before. I've lived in a total of 4 homes since early 2022 and now It's going to be 5 homes by next month.
I will post an update once I move. I will get these videos done. There won't be any reason why I can't edit by then if I don't have to earn as much money every month to pay for rent

LONG STORY SHORT: Yes I will still be giving every single couple their video. My goal is to have everyone's video delivered before April. The earlier your wedding date is... the sooner you'll get it, the more recent your wedding is, the sooner to April you'll get it. PLEASE READ BELOW
Hey Everyone!
I have written this whole page quickly and have not read it over as I want to spend my time editing the wedding films instead of perfecting this website page so there may be typos here.
I want to start off by giving a big apology for this big mess in the late delivery of the wedding films, it was never my intention to make this whole mess happen and Yes I will still be giving everyone's videos!!!
I don't know where to begin but I want to seriously give a big apology to everyone.
I want to give a little background on my current life to make everything more understanding.
Although I have filmed already for 3 years before you have booked me, I was still fairly new to the business. The quality of the work as you already know is cinematic and nothing less. While I was still fairly new I wasn't able to charge rates like other videographers who provide the same quality. I think something you all can agree on my style of videos is that for the price of I was charging the work was beyond what other videographers were charging. I am speaking quality of videos only.
With that said I have gotten well overbooked with all these videos not knowing it would add up. At first it wasn't bad at all. I was only giving everyone's work a month or 2 late. Back then I was very consistent with messaging everyone about their videos but there was one couple that even though I communicated with them it'd be impossible for me to finish their video by the end of the month...they got furious and wrote a horrible 1 star review with her husband. This took our 5 star rating to a 4.8 and in the wedding world reviews means everything. NO COUPLES WOULD HIRE ME, It caused my financial situation to crash. I didn't have enough money saved to survive on no job. This all happened as soon as I moved to a new home in early 2022. I've spent thousands on moving on things such as moving company, furniture, storage units, box truck rentals, even paying friends for their time to help me move. Not a great way at all to start off the year. Eventually I did finish their video but the couple still haven't taken down the 1 star review. It caused me to get absolutely no booked clients so I had to return to my old job (which is a flexible job for me and pays the bills) That would take up my time so much though, it's the only job I can do that gives me flexibility and give me time to edit videos. I kept editing videos but as time went on.... more couples kept emailing demanding updates on their video. I would give updates every few weeks at first but couples would constantly ask for updates way more that it would take hours for me to respond to everyone and mean less time for me to edit. Overtime more couples have written their 1 star reviews. Making the situation worse on my end. Some couples have asked for me to no longer film their wedding causing no income at all and got myself into debt.... As of now I am working multiple hours everyday to pay bills. If I don't make a certain amount daily I am fucked and no chance at all for me to edit anything.
I believe the original couple who wrote the 1 star review thought by doing that to me I'd edit their video faster. In reality what happened was, they caused me to fall into a huge financial crisis and it has affected every couple afterwards to have their videos from 1-2 months late.... to well over 6 months late. I'm not saying they were in the wrong, I understand their frustration. I just wish they never wrote that review in the first place and just only messaged me about it. If they never wrote that, I'd be giving everyone's videos only 1-2 months late rather than 6+ months late.
I want to finish all the videos I haven't delivered yet and I will. I am truly sorry about everything. I am not trying to run away and never get your videos sent!
I will be editing them all with quality and it won't be rushed editing either, it will as top notch as I can make it be.
